HISTORY
Patricia Bova established the dance studio in 1955. “Pattie” taught many of her first students in her home. Her first dance production was on the back patio of her parents’ home in Overland Park. In 1966, the central portion of our building on Foster was built. In 1973, the dance studio became what was known as Beller Dance Studio. In 2011 the name was changed to Beller’s Dance and Gymnastics.
In March of 2001 Pattie’s daughter, Diane, became co-owner of Beller’s. Diane grew up in the family business, first as a student, then as an instructor and finally full owner in March 2014 upon Patties passing from ALS. Pattie will be missed but her legacy continues!
In September, 2018, Kristin Birdsong became the new owner of Beller’s Dance and Gymnastics. Kristin started at Beller’s when she was a toddler. She was a competitive gymnast at Beller’s for many years. As of July of 2023, Beller’s Dance and Gymnastics purchased Emerald City Gymnastics. The two gyms have combined forces into one location in Overland Park.
